Watch Me Shoot + Edit: Family Session

Join me behind the scenes as I capture and edit an outdoor family photo session! This video is perfect for photographers who want to level up their shooting and editing workflow — especially in flat, overcast lighting.

Here’s what you’ll learn:

📸 Shooting & Directing
Watch how I pose and guide a real family of four (with two kids ages 5–9) to create natural, connected images — including how I incorporate couples portraits into a family session. You'll get insight into my go-to prompts and how I interact with clients to bring out genuine emotion and connection.

🖥 Editing in ACR + Photoshop
The second half of the video is a full screen-recording of my editing process. You'll see how I use my signature Everything Preset in Adobe Camera Raw, along with the fine-tuned adjustments I make. Then, follow along as I retouch and finish the gallery in Photoshop using masking, brushes, and light-enhancing techniques to make the photos pop — even in overcast conditions.

Highlights include:

  • Posing and prompting a family of four

  • Editing with overcast lighting challenges

  • Adding variety by including couples photos

  • Retouching techniques for polished but natural results

  • Tools and brushes used for light and skin work
